Disloyalty to good employees

Pros

Advanced softwear well kept modern pharmacies

Cons

Walgreens Pharmists need to be managed by other Pharmists. We the Pharmacists get managed by people who's pharmacy education is limited to the least experienced technician, yet these people can influence the workflow and patient outcome. Controlling the pharmacist decisions even though the license and the decisions fall back on the pharmacist. It is dangerous when a pharmacists decisions are pressured by someone with no understanding. Over and over again we are forced to do what is right for Walgreens rather than what is right for the patient. Many times I am forced to go against my conscience when making decisions for fear of getting in trouble. Although making a lot of money for Walgreens I do not feel like I have an opportunity to get a raise or praise for what I am doing. There is no value for the employee. Walgreens focuses more on the store than the pharmacy. The technicians I have to do a lot of good work and are underpaid and underappreciated. Their jobs are much more complicated than those who work out on the floor, the store manager included! There is no overtime pay. For years I help them out when they were short-handed and now when I work for them they pressure me without extra pay!

A Messy Merger

Pros

Pharmacist salary is good, and (most) of the other pharmacists are good to each other, but the feeling of the "Walgreens" family is dwindling. We used to all help look out for each other. Now with the arrangements on corporate level, it has become every man for himself.

Cons

The merger with Boots Alliance was a total mess. When they rearranged the positions in corporate, their personnel went from dumb to dumber. Underqualified mangers were promoted to corporate positions and many pharmacists started leaving because they felt undervalued.

Pros

Great Staff and cleanliness, computer system

Cons

Retail, of course. CVS dropped TriCare and Texas Blue Cross, therefore a rush of CVS former patients swarm to Walgreens, yet Walgreens corporate refuses to give more hours to the staff.. resulting in more stress about the workplace and angry patients.
