Great atmosphere and peers, Awful, awful pay.

Pros

- Great atmosphere - Staff and peers are awesome and it feels like a family - Free gym membership for you + 1 friend - Discount scheme called "TRIBE" - Training and further education courses paid for (there's a catch)

Cons

- Long hours (usually 2 or more hours longer than your shift) - Awful, awful pay (Virgin pays most staff and duty managers minimum wage) - No bonuses (only Tribe "discounts") - If you take up training through the company, you are locked to them for 1 year or you pay it all back in full if you leave. - Most courses are "Virgin" courses, so are not recognised by other clubs/gyms - You WILL work every weekend (almost guaranteed) which leaves you with no life outside the gym

Long hours, low salary, Very bad opportunities to progress inside the company, dishonest management, unrecognised hard work.

Good virgin benefits but not good internal management

Pros

Good place to work with good benefits such as free gym membership for you and one other. Also good to have access to virgin tribe to get different virgin discounts. The actual health club is a nice working environment.

Cons

The internal management changes too frequently and things get changed without any club wide communication. Lifeguards get treated very badly.
