Pros

Good team, hybrid work schedule

Cons

Laying off employees with no warning, forcing AI integration into everything at the cost of quality work, super disconnected upper management, no movement, treats employees as expendable

Pros

The positive is working for a company with a long history and well know name in the testing industry. Most people are willing to speak to you because of their reputation.

Cons

The management at UL is atrocious especially in S&A. Most of the top managers left UL and were replaced by folks who have no idea how to manage. Bullying was the norm and when this was reported to HR, their response was to find a new job. Most of their top PM's, engineers, and sales staff have left the company.

Pros

Exposure to complex client environments, Opportunity to develop strong customer communication skills

Cons

- Base salaries are below market for comparable sales roles - Commission/bonus structure is tied to engineering delivery rather than revenue generated - The Built Environment group has significant project delays and turnaround issues - Sales executives spend a disproportionate amount of time managing customer complaints instead of selling - The role operates more as reactive account management than proactive sales - Frequent rollout of new processes that do not address root operational bottlenecks - High stress environment with elevated burnout risk
