Pros

Working with really, really smart and competent people. Exposure to interesting work and knowledge sharing. Culture that encourages irreverence. Access to senior management and ability to speak your mind without fear of reprisal.

Cons

Travel is often seen as the biggest downside, but recent organizational realignments/strategies seems to have enabled people to work more closely to their home cities than ever before. Working at client sites for long periods of time can make you feel somewhat disconnected from the culture, unless there is a large number of ThoughtWorkers on the gig.

Pros

Most, if not all consultants and internal employees are underpaid relative to other consulting companies. Investment in the "rock stars" is minimal. The environment started to become quite adversarial when I was leaving...

Pros

- there are some brilliant people who you can learn a lot from - it has a creative environment which encourages ideas, discussion and feedback - there is a very practical results focus - ThoughtWorks embraces agile and best practice in a open-minded, pragmatic fashion - diversity is encouraged, and the company is eager to give back to the community

Cons

- they're having trouble figuring out how to provide a workable career progression path - the allocation of people to projects can be fickle and unpredictable - the work itself is often not incredibly interesting - pay isn't great compared to an equivalent role somewhere else, but there are some nice benefits
