Pros

Work from home. Able to flex my schedule Two 15 minutes breaks that I can take whenever I want to. Don’t have to be on camera all day. Equipment is provided and training is not too bad. They send gifts out all the time. Paid Holidays. Success sharing. 2 times a year! 401k. You can travel and take your equipment with you (if approved of course) Voluntary time off Apps for the associate. Hard to get canned

Cons

The benefits are subpar. Hard to get in touch with your supervisor when you really need support. Growth can seem almost nonexistent for some. Only 4 hours of PTO a month and you can’t use doctor excuses for any call outs. Systems are ALWAYS changing to the point where you think you may know something and then they up and change it. Too much change. Pay is not worth the abuse we receive from customers. Customers are treated better than the employees. Training does NOT prepare you for the floor. The raises are mediocre. Associates feeling so burnt out as the workload is a lot. Can get stuck with up to 5 chats and you are calling out to stores for the customers while taking chats. Weekly one on ones can feel like a bashing session. Some managers have little to no experience with your job role and so they can’t relate to you when you are going through it. No down time to do any kind of exploring for new opportunities. Chats come in so heavy.

Pros

I see nothing of value there anymore

Cons

After nearly a decade of loyal and dedicated service that never received a below average annual review, I was laid off along with many others and received 2 months severance. So much for hard work, loyalty and dedication. This company just got rid of me and many other people like we were broken pieces of furniture not worth repairing. Home Depot breached our trust. Well, layoffs in corporate world is an accepted reality, but Home Depot took it to new low: for years, during almost all corporate meetings high management was preaching Home Depot core vales, "taking care of our people" being one of them. People working here knew that they may not get the highest salaries in the industry, but as an offset, they would get a job security. For years, it was true until now and I foolishly trusted the idea that Home Depot does what it says. A big mistake. It is all ruined now for me and many others because Home Depot "took care of our people" in a vey peculiar way. I don't know what made them do it but the feeling of being stabbed in the back and betrayed is nagging. In my opinion, their management should stop talking about Home Depot values - for these values no longer exist, as cold, calculated and profit driven approach just obscured them. Now, if they continue talking about their values it would be the same as if a bunch of pagans would be preaching Christianity. For all future Home Depot job applicants: you heard my opinion, you make your conclusions if you want to be a part of this company or not and how much of job security you can expect.

Pros

- Currently remote - Decent benefits (health care, dental, vision) - 40 hours paid vacation after 6 months - Easy to learn - Computers are provided

Cons

Angry customers all day long. The occ is mainly for just calming entitled and angry customers down. If you love talking and schmoozing this job is for you. They want you to mediate situations that are caused by poor deliveries, china items, or store issues. Then you get scored on factors that don't really pertain to you, it pertains to the customer's experience as a whole. The job being remote is great, the downside is legit call after call of people who are so self-centered and want the world to revolve around them. The option for growth is there but is hard to reach. It honestly is draining mentally listening to people complain day in and day out, not a long term position in my opinion. But hey if you like playing therapist, but not earning a high wage, then this job is for you.
