Great benefits compared to other retail companies, atmospehere and the other people you end up working with are great.
Cons
Management is all from outside hires, inexperienced works best for Target. You see it daily, how experienced people that know the ins and outs of the company are passed over for some 20 year old that started their first ever job at Target.
The company has a great reputation in the general public, and it's nice to hear how much people love shopping there.
Cons
In the time I've been with the company, I've seen the company become less focused on its people and more focused on goals, metrics, and "unfunded mandates"; by that last one, I mean that the company sends down goals and new plans for store teams to execute, but they never give the teams the tools they need to accomplish these new directives i.e. more payroll.
For a team member, the best things about working at Target are the flexibility to work around your personal life and the opportunity to promote. For all who work at Target, the atmosphere and team work is always great (although, like in all cases, everything is not always perfect). There will be times when new programs have to roll out, and not everyone approves of them. Just make sure you give them a chance, and if they work out, everything is good. Most failed plans end up getting dumped once it is clear they won't succeed. Voice your opinion because your HR and STL are ther to listen to your concerns and suggestions.
Cons
It's retail, so you will be working all/most major holidays, including Christmas Eve, 4th of July, etc.
