Pros

Target is a very laid back company for the most part. They do care a lot about team member appreciation and do benefit breakfasts monthly or some other small morale boosting activity. They also match your 401k contributions up to 5%! If you can afford to, sign up right away! It adds up so fast!

Cons

Metric expectancies are getting more and more rigid as time progresses. It seems as though the company has almost vacated their "guest service" focus and relied on metrics from surveys to gauge performance, ignoring the immeasurable factors.

Pros

Great experience with many opportunities to learn customer service, sales, merchandising, and logistics. The Team Lead and Senior Team Lead training programs are thorough. The work environment is very positive and there is a great team mentality.

Cons

Much of the higher management is hired from outside. This limits the ability to promote within the company. Benefits are not cost-effective for team members. The pay for hourly Team Members is not enough to make a living.
