      Not as great as it used to be, but still great people

      Pros

      - Industry leading product - Given the opportunity to prove yourself - The chance to work with some clever, savvy people

      Cons

      - Not really a meritocracy, although likes to be seen as one - Too many right place right time promotions to those without the ability, leading to failure - Political in many parts of the organisation - Long hours to get anywhere - Salaries reviewed infrequently

      Most managers are very smart and good at what they do, however good managers are few and far between.

      Pros

      Company is growing even in this economy. Internationally known with an excellent HQ location. A lot of smart people work there. You'll get to work on products and programs that are changing an industry.

      Cons

      Managers at every level micro-manage rather than foster employee growth and responsibility. There is a different "drop eevrything and focus on this" priority every week. Very political.

      Pros

      Great product, happy customers, strong industry vision, great pay - especially when delivering on your numbers, strong CEO, lots of growth potential.

      Cons

      Extremely political organization that breeds suspicion, jealousy, and yes-men. Management has employees in a weak position given their strong market position, pay, and weak job market - take the crap or leave to a not-as-great job.
