A very typical, sometimes stressful, consulting job

Pros

- Some very good projects with some big players - You will learn a lot and get a lot responsibility quickly - Some very talented developers who produce some amazing work

Cons

- Very profit/money oriented and this causes a lot of stress as well as bad feeling for both customers and over worked colleagues as the profit margin much higher than the industry standard - Management do not have much in the way of technical knowledge to judge complexity and have a lot of pressure to sell people into dangerous lucrative projects with very high expectations and this often goes very wrong as the experience not yet there with most of the young team - Work life balance poor with too many unofficial hours that get spent scrambling to deliver and lots of internal activities which you need to attend to get ahead or the management will quickly take a dislike to you

Dear Replyer, thank you for sharing your experience on Glassdoor, your feedback is much appreciated. We totally understand that work-life-balance is something in which we can improve and that the consulting life is something that requires some really stressful periods. In Reply all the projects are designed and delivered in collaboration with the customer, following our north-pole values: sharing aims and objectives, with sense of responsibility, professional approach and moral integrity. Pros

The culture of the organisation in general is great!Everyone is generally nice and friendly. The location is great as it is across the road from Victoria station

Cons

I can only speak for shared services... - we are segregated from the rest of the company and the social events do not apply to us as they are mostly technical - management are terrible, some don’t even speak English! - no career progression and they just want to keep you in a box - it is all just admin - nobody knows the strategy or department goals because it is centralised and not trickled down

Pros

Reply is made up of a lot of companies who are run "independently" of each other supported by a "shared service"... so there is bound to be a few good ones in the group. They support graduates so it would be a good entry point.

Cons

Because the group is made up of lots of different companies.. it's a bit hit and miss with the different companies... being somewhat associated to a large organisation helps a little bit but really not that much. Joining the shared services function is a big no-no... a lot of time an attention is given to the operating companies in general support functions are a low priority in most business anyway but I think more so the case at Reply
