The Transition Never Ends!

Pros

RINA purchased this small private company about two years ago. They are in the midst of transitioning us to their way of doing things. Organizational learning is a huge part of their culture. They are passionate about what they do.

Cons

It is quite the leap to go from a small privately-held company to a multi-national organization with a home office in Italy. Everything takes longer - approvals for everything must go up through the chain of command to Italy and back down to the U.S. The cultural shifts are enormous and not sure that they understand our ways of doing things. Communication gaps continue to exist all along the way. We have lost a lot of employees due to this extended transition - many are just exhausted due to never-ending changes, including me.

Pros

Good benefit Good insurance Insurance extending to family member Nursery Grant for children from 1-3 y.o Transport provided (Car) Good Allowance (meal, overseas, domestic biztrip) IT system is simple & very user-friendly Cooperative overseas colleague Quick response for IT issue

Cons

Local employees have a small chance of reaching the management level Office location is not so strategic, very often to be closed due to Mass Rallies. Grey career path Not clear instruction for special case jobs. Difficult to overseas transfer non-transparent management No one-on-one discussion for employee appraisal. Difficult to have knowledge development. non-competent country director for the last 3 years. less recognition from the management for the local employees. difficult to get salary increments for the last 4 years. For the last 3 years, high employee turnover. mostly pioneers, highly experienced and highly competent employees. Keep incompetent rotten BD managers who are always on the client's side for any technical issues. Commercial interference from the local BD manager is too deep and often for technical issues. A non-profit organization which changes into revenue minded.
