The benefits and performance reviews/rewards are fair. Most colleagues are competent which fosters a culture of wanting to solve problems and do things right.

Cons

The hours. The unequal balance of work load and hours required to get the work done. The rewards are generous, but it's a fine line.

Pros

qualcomm CDMA is a market and technology leader. It provides the whole system level solution to the customer. It is a good place to learn the cell phone system knowledge. Knowledge sharing between groups are encouraged.

Cons

As a large company, sometimes, you feel the career ladder is really long. Promotion is based on the performance but sometimes quick promotion is restricted by the corporate policy. The compensation package is not very competitive in the industry.

- Great work/life balance - Free drinks at vending machines - Unlimited sick days - Paid medical benefits - Great annual parties/celebrations - Individual offices for most positions - Potential bonus every 6 months

Cons

- Large corporation w/ typical politics/bureaucracy - Some buildings/teams not central and spread across San Diego - Rankings/performance reviews based on upper management deliberation and not end-to-end impact - Reductions in force can go unreported in the media if handled in small numbers...they still happen even though you don't hear that the company is laying off
