Pros

Some good work and interesting products, like Cloud. Work / life balance is good. Salary is competitive. Some people get stock bonuses.

Cons

Oracle is a giant company that doesn't care about you. If you / your project / your division fall out of favor, then buh-bye! Benefits are mediocre-to-bad. e.g. Very stingy on vacation days. IT / HR is mostly self-service, which means "figure it out yourself". Lots of acquisitions creates chaos.

Pros

It's a paycheck. Training is available. Good benefits (for now).

Cons

Little or no opportunity for promotion. Raises/bonus/stock awards non existent for most people. Just about everyone I started with 20 years ago is still doing the same job. Now, they are screwing us over on vacation accrual. This is a precursor to a RIF, so they don't have to pay out accrued vacation time. I thought management had reached a low when they implemented the 'Holiday Break' but this new policy tops that one.
