Pros

Chances to play with many new software technologies. A global company also means wider exposure to international customers if you job interacts with them. If you like to climb corporate ladders, you got a chance here.

Cons

Management prefers to speak political correct instead of the truth. You have to learn to read the rumors, which sometimes are more reliable than what you hear from all-hands meetings. Internal divisions don't trust each other and often hold back on useful information.

Pros

Oracle helps you get a brand name on your CV. There are enough opportunities internally and across divisions to keep climbing regularly. Exceptionally well positioned for the recession.

Cons

With all the M&A activity in the last 4 years the company has become a confusing place to work in. There is too much of change happening all the time. Change is a good thing - in moderation. Unfortunately - Oracle changes for the sake of "change". It is a machine - that will become obsolescent in about ten years - unless they are able to find a way to work with the market - other than muscling their customers.
