Pros

Flexible schedule, lunch break, employee discount

Cons

This company is very number driven and God forbid it is a slow day they will watch you on the cameras. Yes, they will tap right in from their phones or computer and watch you. I have had many retail jobs, but that is too invasive for my liking especially for a store that gets awfully slow outside of the holidays. There is also a terrible micro managing issue that causes a trickle effect and unfortunately key holders/sales associates are at the bottom of the rainfall. There is also not a difference in what the assistant manager does and what key holders/associates do. Assistant managers fold, sell, do paper work, send emails, etc. Key holders/associates also fold, sell, do paper work, send emails, set up the store for promos, and are constantly in touch with the district manager discussing sales. Assistant managers simply make more because of expectations. So key holders either need a raise or AMs need to make less. You have to constantly be in touch from your personal phone about sales throughout the day and if the conversion rate is low simply because customers don't want to buy they encourage you to use a more aggressive approach to get sales. I have worked too many shifts where there was neither a manager or assistant manager on duty while I was fairly new and undertrained. Having to constantly call to simply perform a return/exchange as the process is very outdated was very annoying. The closing process at the end of the day is most time consuming closing I've ever had to do.

Pros

The pay was decent and the schedule was sent out in advance.

Cons

Lack of diversity, toxic work environment, management was unprofessional, they tend to belittle and throw you under the bus. As a leader you’re not supposed to belittle your staff if they need help with something. Management tend to micromanage and even disrespect you in front of customers. There is also a lot of gossip and “he said she said.” After leaving this company and staying there for only a few months I’m glad I left and I’m way happier than I’ve ever been. Working in a toxic environment and crying everyday wasn’t worth it.
