Pros

This company moves fast! I view this as a positive because it keeps employees very interested. The attitude is certainly work hard, play hard. Thirsty Thursdays in the summer, pickup soccer, awesome workout facilities, great employee discounts, terrific offices, fun peers and an agile attitude helped propel Nike to the top 100 companies to work for in a Businessweek review. Management communication is absolutely top-notch with all-employee meetings.

Cons

You've got to drink the Kool-Aid. You will be literally kicked off campus if you don't wear Nike shoes to work, or (worse yet) you bring a competitors' shoes. Secrecy is big and privacy is huge. You also have to constantly defend Nike against those who still think they use sweatshop labor (they don't).

Pros

The reason's to work at Nike are: retail discounts, sample sales, a resort-like campus with amenities like bank machines, gift shops, dry cleaners, restaurants and state of the art gym facilities. And the occasionally sighting of an Athlete visiting campus.

Cons

Nike spend tens....likely hundreds of millions wooing college athletics across the nation. Focused only on driving its brands deeper into the mind sight of every athletic. Nike feels it's more important to strive for dominance than building a workforce of highly capable professionals.

Pros

The name on your resume and the exposure to a world class business. You will do things at Nike that you may have to wait 10+ years to do at other companies. Nike is the best in the world at what they do, who wouldn't want to be part of that. Finally, the company is one big family and most team members are incredibly proud of the work they do.

Cons

First, it is cult like. You eat-sleep-breathe Nike. Second, the culture around employee development tends to focus on what you suck at rather than what you are great at. You'll hear over and over again a line from a contreversial ad: "second place is the first loser." They really do treat you like that and thus development can be tough.
