Pros

-Innovative and energetic -Driven by sports and art (If you are in the right areas) -Free product and access to sporting/entertainment events -Interesting people -Beautiful facilities -Close to nice communities to reside

Cons

-Not as racially and culturally diverse as we promote in our advertisements -Way underpaid -Most managers are promoted based on the fact that they were good at doing their work not that they have exemplified true leadership abilities -You spend most of your day chasing the info you need to be truly effective -Advancement is based on who you know not what you know -People do not consider you relevant or "cool" if you are not a culture stereotype. i.e. "Hi i'm a Oregon Duck Fan, who loves running, Lance Armstrong, anything that has to deal with Mt.Hood and I think that riding a bike is the coolest thing in the world." This type of exclusionary mind set does not allow for a diverse and respectful melting pot of social, cultural and racial differences. It makes minorities who are not from Oregon feel out of place when we do not partake in any of the activities of the native Oregonians who work there. -Most of the leaders at Nike feel that they dont have to reply to your email if you are not "important" -Lots of sycophants -Terrible weather most of the year in Oregon, summers are amazing though :) -Tenure instead of talent advancement strategy (strong sense of ageism. Youth is not respected at Nike) -Too many of the original employees of Nike have vital roles in the organization. No real room for advancement because the "leadership pipeline" is clogged.
