Pros

They work hard to get you into a job.

Cons

This company is disreputable. They lied about every aspect of the job in which they placed me: I was told it was senior level, it was junior. I was told I'd be working on one specific kind of project, and it turns out those projects are outsourced and I was assigned to something entirely different. I was told I would make one rate, and on the way into the Modis office to sign the papers they told me I would be getting 30% less. When I arrived the first day, no one at the company where I was placed knew I was coming, my background check wasn't completed, I had no computer, nor phone, no email account, no access to anything (including the buildings). I got the feeling that they were also not that happy to have me there--or they just didn't really care one way or another. Finally, when I was suddenly told my services were no longer needed, Modis accused me of "quitting." When I showed them the emails from my boss saying I was no longer needed, and told them how I'd been told not to come back, Modis accused me of lying. My recruiter called me repeatedly, left increasingly angry voice messages, and sent me harassing emails, even after I explicitly told him and his manager to stop contacting me. This is not a place you want to work.

Pros

Commission plan was pretty good at one time. Name recognition helps win business. Modis has some very special talent in some areas.

Cons

Low Base salaries. Commission plan cuts. No innovation. Senior Management doesn't know what they are doing. I agree with the other posters about it being a good ole boys club.

Pros

Benefits are good. Name recognition within the industry. Upside on commission payouts is great if you can actually get your overall book of business there. Plenty of candidates already in the database.

Cons

RDM commission plan not very good, in my opinion Pretty good amount of turnover in the market I worked in. MD's, RVP's and SVP's don't seem to have authority to make decisions on their own. Often took too long to get things done. Even little things had to be run up the ladder for approval. No innovative ideas or forward thinking from senior management. They just keep telling you to come in earlier and stay later. I agree with another poster who called it a "good ol' boys club" at the top.
