They keep pushing 15-20% people down to the bottom and manage out(no pip, just direct terminate) every half. Everybody is so anxious that they keep pushing the bar higher, so you are never good enough but keep chasing, Manager has the biggest power, no matter how much work you do, they'll just say impact/visibility is not enough and decide your rating. Some teams have endless SEVs/alerts that feels like oncall 24/7, some teams you don't need to work after 5pm but you can't stop thinking/worry about work(cause finishing planned roadmap is not enough now) so you open the laptop and found everybody else is also working. In 2026, no one is writing a single line of code, we just talk to AI all day, and using AI is part of the performance evaluation. Now a 1 month project is expected to be complete within 1 week due to AI assistance.

Stress is through the roof, sometimes feels like the pay is not high enough to cover the trauma. Green card is almost impossible now. Food is free, though often undercooked.
