Getting funding for projects in IT is a nightmare, layers upon layers of leadership bureaucracy. hard to get things done. "Good ol' boy's" senior leadership, good luck if your not in the fold.

Medtronic under the leadership of Geoff Martha has gone down the gutter. After almost 9 years at the company, everybody I know wants to leave and is looking for a way out. You just need to look at the last Pulse results.

Cons

That said, MDT is still a behemoth that offers good pay, great benefits and stability. If you are in a role you enjoy and have not been massively hit by the reorgs and layoffs, I would stay put.
