Pros

Manpower has amazing leadership training and has pretty good training overall. The company utilizes a 9 box philosophy, which works well, and is very open about how salaries are decided, which is wonderful. Each employee has a good understanding of how they can elevate their salary. The HR policies of the company are pretty exceptional.

Cons

Manpower is not a fun place to work- the morale is not good overall, particularly in the US. The strategies are wrong- the managers are required to do too many non revenue generating activities so they struggle to be successful. The gap between branch managers and regional directors is too large- it is almost impossible to get promoted in this company. Even if someone did get promoted, the leadership is so weak that one would struggle if new to a position requiring development. Senior leaders are not client focused and rarely sell with the field- this is the first company in the staffing industry that I have seen run this way. Most senior leaders are so out of touch with the field and with what works- they are too wrapped up in their own corporate culture that they can't understand how to help make things better. The technology is WOEFULLY bad, particularly in comparison with their competition. The people in the company who provide service to the clients (and therefore the most important layer) are all very administrative and most of them are very low level in comparison to other companies in the industry. The training at this level is inadequate and there is no recognition or incentive given to this level. The politics beyond the branch level are not good- certain people are in and certain people are out, and very little of it has to do with performance.

Pros

Genuine Colleagues (majority left this year) Good office location

Cons

1. Offboarding process was not as accordance to the MOM ruling. Last salary and payslip was delayed and no explanation given. (Despite serving the notice period) 2. Salary discrepancy and again, no valid or reasonable explanation was given. Personnel pushed the responsibility to one's team for the mistakes instead. 3. Consultants were constantly being chased by Finance Team to expedite invoice payment from Clients, when the role of consultants should be focused on sales generation and not chasing of payments. 4. Systems were all around the place, increasing workload of the consultants, when all processes could be streamlined into one. Employee's have no say and voices were not heard. 5. While most people are working from home in Singapore, consultants were asked back to office to work. Employees were clueless when there is a mandate from Govt to WFH yet company have not informed on any changes till the very last minute.

Pros

1: Colleagues are generally nice and down to earth 2: Friendly and accommodating atmosphere 3: If you come here from other staffing agencies, it is genuinely a vast improvement in terms of culture 4: Not a hire and fire culture, time is often given to those who wants to put in efforts to improve 5: Management is fair and strive to retain employees during pandemic 6: In general you could stay here for long 7: Good work life balance

Cons

1: Management tends to be autocratic , and make decisions without involvement of ground staffs, make a couple of changes to commission structure last 12 months where consultant are told to sign agreement (that is effective2 months ago) 2: Spend tons of money on awards that are generally 'bought' for, other established agencies do not even participate as their reputation is well-known , generally money is spent on tools that recruiters may not need and tools that recruiters truly need is not thought of 3: Management does not have much trust in sales team, and have tried to contravene MOM regulations and request consultant to come back once a week despite advisory not to. 4: During the onset of the pandemic , management teams were able to stay at home while ground staffs continue to work from office until WFH is made mandatory 5: Panic and decision making based on 'profit' rather than empathy , rolled out 'rolling deficit ' commission scheme during start of pandemic without thought of consultant's morale 6: Panic decision making last year where it leads to various desk being dissolved , this leads to disorganization where there is no longer specialization 7: Lacks of communications between management and consultants 8: Low increment 9 High turn over since start of this year as of above, too many 'talented' employees left this year and no question were asked why
