      Company collapsing around our ears, but a relaxing place I work

      Pros

      They recognise people who go the extra mile and put in the hours. The engineers are generally great people to work with. There's a great atmosphere. Engineers see the bigger picture and understand the relevance of their work

      Cons

      IT is a mess. Servers and PCs regularly going down (about once a week!) Don't seem to have any budget or desire for trying new technologies and promotion is only possible if you change your job-title. Clearly a lot of employees are comfortable here, but very little room for career progression due to the above reasons.

      Pros

      Very broad range of specialist technology and electronics engineering expertise serving many sectors of the Defence and Aerospace markets. Many employees have had long stable careers with good remuneration packages. The physical working environment is very good.

      Cons

      Real management control is and decision making is with the parent company with only limited autonomy for the UK management team. Too much dependence on shrinking Defence market and failure to diversify is putting UK jobs at risk. Morale is poor due to uncertainty.
