Pros

Pay is solid in the industry with benefits that match other companies. Depending on the leadership around you, going to work can be OK, but very much a roll of the dice.

Cons

Very much a who you know verses how hard you work and what you know. I have seen so many good people give up, leave, beat down that I would go out of my way to make sure anyone I know would not work for Luxottica. The company cares way to much about the bottome line and should you as an associate miss a month on your goals, your on an action plan. Upper management and HR work very hard on getting people out and your longitivy is only as solid as the upper management's opinion.

Pros

Good place to learn new trade

Cons

Company policies and upper management have ruined what used to be a great company. There is no accountability for upper management. They are free to do whatever they want. If they are good managers with integrity and treat everyone fairly it is not a problem. But too many of them are not good managers. Their treatment of people changes like the weather. And corporate doesn't care. As long as it doesn't put the company in a bind or take away from their profit, they won't do anything to any upper management person. If you are desperate for a job and get in at Lenscrafters, don't work on making it a career. You will only be dissappointed in the end.

Pros

Decent benefits, flexible scheduling, complimentary eye exams and eyeglasses annually for employees.

Cons

Disconnect between upper management and store associate, outdated and flawed business model, poor pay/commission for store associates, instead of rewarding innovation and "out-of-the-box thinking" they penalize you for it (violates their brand culture), hiring/promoting of associates with no optical experience, instead of focusing on what's right for their patients and their needs they solely focus on making money, it does not foster a rewarding work environment.
