Pros

Great Atmosphere, Some flex with hours (though mainly for associates)

Cons

Commision seems poor compared to other retail business, Salary is only for those working min of 40hours- anything more is not overtime, though they dock your pay if you work less than 40

Pros

There are very few good things about working at Lenscrafters. As mentioned before, you get a free pair of eyewear on your anniversary. The health insurance is good. You do gain a basic knowledge of optics.

Cons

Company's C2 cultural belief shift is a joke. Basically, they paid consultants to dream up these cultural beliefs that employees are suppose to embrace and be empowered by. If you can't think for yourself, it shouldn't be a problem for you. Sales and profits are down, so hours are routinely cut for full time hourly employees. The review process is terrible. If you score less than a 3, you will receive a 5% pay decrease. I was there for nearly three years and never received a raise. This is not an employee friendly company. If you are not a "game player" by nature, this is probably not a good fit for you.

Ok if you're new to the industry

Pros

It's a good place to gain sales experience and feel the pressure to sell. They have ongoing sales coaching and you can learn a lot if you're new to the industry.

Cons

The pay is relatively low compared to others I've seen. They don't want to give raises, so instead of stating that, they decide to tell everyone that they're performing at the same level, despite the fact that they are clearly not, so that they don't have to give raises.
