Pros

Great training to start in the optical business. I really enjoyed the staff that I worked with.

Cons

pay could be better and commission could be better on sales.

Pros

Flexible scheduling is available. They sell chic, good quality products and the employee discount can even be used on clearance stock. The nicest glasses I own came from LC. I learned a lot, but mostly on my own. It was a great place to work while I was in optometry school.

Cons

There is a wide variety of management styles among GMs. Some are not very friendly to scheduling needs where some are awesome. There is the usual propagation of ineffective managers who stay employed in spite of their lacks. The amount of commission is very low and gets lower if the store fails to make sometimes ridiculous sales goals (at least when I was there we were expected to make goals based on a strong economy when it had clearly tanked).

Pros

There's a lot of structure with training and education. They like to promote from within. If there's an job opening close to you, you're encouraged to go for it if its to your benefit. They're flexible with hours.

Cons

Reaching sales goals always seem high. Didnt like selling eyewear the patient didnt necessarily need. Prices are high. Pay could be about $5 more per hour for management. If you put in a lot of time and effort I dont think you're compensated for it.
