Pros

- Learn a trade (i.e. learning basic optics) - You can really get to know how optical insurance works ( this is a positive and a negative because you’ll really see how bad the healthcare system is) - great to give glasses to first time wearers (especially kids) - decent employee benefits (free eye exam and optomap) - free pair of glasses after one year

Cons

- LensCrafters is a mess - when hired in, it was told this was culture of “trust” and leadership, and that’s far from the case. This brand says they’re all about “customer service” but they’re all about making the next dollar and while the lenses are decent, they’re overpriced - There is no push for genuine conversation and HELPING customers - “work/life balance” is nowhere close here for management. they pile so much on you store manager and expect the store manager to be connected to the store when out of the business. - there are tasks ONLY assigned to the store manager that cannot be delegated to your high performing assistants or team managers, so actual growth here is just a joke. - burnout will happen between 2months to 8months of Management employment - upper management will say they have your back, but they don’t. - the training here is not structured. I feel lucky I caught on fast, but I see so many managers still struggling - 4+ conference calls a week that will have the same info every week because apparently people aren’t good at actual change. You’ll hear more managers here talk a big game and know they’re lying to appease the upper management - overall, stay away if you can, it is toxic here.
