Free membership, good members make a pleasant day

Cons

Poor training, pay is very lousy, expected to be available 7 days a week, lots of phone calls when not at work, there are no overlapping schedules-if one person is sick, there is a lot of scrambling to cover their shift.

Working at LA Fitness

Pros

The experience was excellent- was able to have a large client base. Being able to interact with clients on daily and weekly basis- watching them reach their fitness goals was by far the best thing about working at LA Fitness. I was able to develop great relationships with the clients.

Cons

The pay is by far the worst thing about LA Fitness. For all the schooling, getting the certification, cpr and first aid and learning about nutrition and constantly increasing knowledge about new products and techniques and accepting the risks involved, the pay is way too little. This place is banking off personal training appointments and gives little to no credit to the people that really sell the training and help the clients.

Great gym but.....

Pros

Free membership and benefits (after three months). I enjoy most of the people I work with and the GM is kind.

Cons

I don't like misleading people and that's what I feel I do in the sales department. I spend all day trying to convince people to come in and try us "for free" for a week then I'm supposed to go after them VERY hard once they come in. I was told not to let them work out if they don't sign up. I was to tell them to come back the next day. How can that be right?
