Pros

The schedule was pretty flexible. I didn't have to work too early or stay too late. Views from the office were nice, I had a desk with a nice window view and the snacks, food in the office were great. Of course this was all pre-Covid. My team was amazing - they, food and views are the reason I can give this company 2 stars.

Cons

Where to start: -Micromanging - we had senior managers / executives that required so much information for something soo minimal. Employee requesting to work permanently remote because they are moving to another state, it required an executive approval, an employee wanted to carry over vacation they accrued in excess of 9 days, required executive review, the CEO required approval of all new hires regardless of the experience or role so yup, if we were hiring a junior IT person they had to be approved by the CEO. It slowed the process down and created such a backlog of roles. -Process doesn't exist - so there were systems in place to do somethings but executives can just change the rules which naturally led to us having to adjust on the fly. -Reviews / bonuses - there was an annual review process using a home grown system / platform. This process was soo annoying and glitchy; some managers just ignored them and because they were higher ups, they got away with it. Some entire divisions did the same! Reviews were tied to bonuses and because they started so late in the year, you often didn't receive the bonus until the next year. So for calendar year 2021 the reviews weren't completed until April 2022 which is when you'll receive your bonus. All the hard work you put in 2021, wouldn't be paid out until April 2022 and if you resign before that you're screwed. Oh and I didn't mention, because the CEO and executives want their divisions and numbers to look good, they'll start a bunch of layoffs right before bonuses are to be paid. Systems - much of the systems we were using were either obsolete or lacking support. We used JIRA for everything but JIRA was not fully integrated across all other systems. This forced many teams and divisions to have to duplicate work because programs didn't communicate. Pay - soo of course the pay was terrible. The company notoriously underpaid all its employees whether new hires or current employees. The CEO and his executives preferred nice bonuses then paying their employees a decent wage that actually increased by the market and location. Toxic - Of course with micromanagement you'll likely have to deal with toxic bosses. They often yelled at their staff, belittled and talked down too them basically to make themselves look like they know it all. Diversity - all but 3 of the executive are white men and there are barely any women or POC in leadership roles.
