The management philosophy is keep China happy at all cost or there will be severe punishment. Very dictatorship mentality. Workers are treated as objects and under appreciated. They would never survive having a Tier 1 customer like AT&T.

The team lead and management were concerned about work and ideas being "borrowed" by China headquarters staff. The ideas developed here would end up in central HQ slides without attribution. Over the entire period we did not receive any use-case data or algorithms from Business Units in China for whom we supposedly are partners. They keep it to themselves - even when senior management directs them to do otherwise. We also did not have proper computer equipment to do our jobs. This led to poor results and (justifiable) lower acceptance of our work by the industry.
