Pros

They provide decent 401k match but you have to stay the whole year to get it at the end of the year. That’s pretty much the only pros

Cons

They recently rolled out a new overtime policy. It was 45 hours before they start paying premium time for the engineer and now it’s 48 hours. No more holiday pay. So if you happen to have to work over holiday or weekend. You basically will be working for free. Furlough is also a new thing at Honeywell. They furlough their employees once every quarter to make their number looks good hoping that they won’t disappoint their investors. They do not care about their employees AT ALL. Few big names already left the companies for the competitors so I don’t expect this company will last very long. Employees start leaving the company right after the furlough and pay cut. They also want to limit your meal expense to $40 a day. That’s right, they want their top not engineers to spend “$40 a day” on their meals. That’s even less then how much they give to the installers because the installers are getting per diem

Pros

Good salary. Outstanding legacy businesses in engineering industries.

Cons

Original vision set 3 years ago was impressive. Limited progress made and several leaders came, left or were asked to leave. Work environment is toxic with "tell the CEO what they want to hear" instead of showing real problems and fixing basic issues. Work hours are very long with unplanned work over weekends. Solutions being built without a real need identified in the market. Pace of staff exits is alarming and culture is worse than rest of Honeywell.

Pros

Salaries can be attractive. Worked with some good knowledgeable people. Made me realize just how much I missed my former employer - so I went back.

Cons

Horrible corporate culture almost anti employee. Benefits poor. Very political. Many older people hanging around to retire. HR totally side with management - managers seem to be able to get away with unethical behavior. Outdated tools and processes. A culture of BS forced upon its smart employees with respect keeping up an image to wall street. Company runs on quarterly basis to look good financially, which exacerbates poor coordination between projects. Lack of innovation. Is seen as a step down in the industry - now I see why.
