Pros

What you would expect...great colleagues, great benefits and perks, great exposure to the luxury world of fashion.

Cons

The "Dream Makers" monitor Gucci prides itself on is unfortunately not entirely true, much to my disappointment. Colleagues were amazing and very professional and hard working however, the "Dream Maker" culture of open expression and the encouragement of free thinking rarely seems to have gone any further than my manager. NO WORK/LIFE BALANCE..... Don't dare to challenge any employee that has been with GUCCI for longer than you, you will lose, and eventually word of the more tenured employee will get to the senior level employees that they want. One more thing, terrible approach to training on the "GUCCI" way.

Horrendous Work Environment

Pros

Commission, staff discount at Kering Brands. 1+ years of employment looks charming on CVs.

Cons

Appalling work environment. Lower scale staff are subject to constant ill treatment and bullying through unreasonable expectations from both store and regional management. Extremely low pay sitting at minimum wage salaries for CA and SS staff, minimal differences for management salaries. Staff are not allowed to socialise with each other outside of work and are expected to work unlimited hours of overtime without question. Company doesn’t provide equal opportunities for all individuals to succeed or progress within their roles. Rosters would be released as late as midnight Thursday for the following week, and are subject to change anytime at the employees expense. Management is also extremely dismissive of mental health issues that could have both personal or work related causes. Do not get sucked in to working here for the sake of the name. It isn’t worth it.
