Pros

Valuable learning experience with a luxury brand in college at an outlet store. You will meet some cool famous people on the job from various industries. I solidified that I'm a leader, not a follower in my mind at Gucci. Thanks!

Cons

For me it was a summer job to help pay for college, I was told by my manager who thought I did a great job bc I can sell anything w/o really trying that upper management wanted another white male to "diversify the store" instead of me a white woman. They were also going to make the product more "exclusive", less attainable for "poor people" since key chains were $60 at our store in San Marcos, TX. With the women's shoes being pretty uncomfortable for their price-I have chucks and Vans for a lot less that are far more comfortable... Often the product needed to be vastly improved bc it wouldn't even sale for 20-60% discount at the outlet. So get it together. Also, my managers "fiancée" called me on his phone while I was at the library the semester after my summer job ended interrogating me bc she thought my manager was having an affair with me. We absolutely were not. She greatly insulted my intelligence and women as a whole by saying "you just thought you could get a job at Gucci?!" Obviously my managers fiancée was with him for the 50% discount and managerial benefits... The hostility towards ex employees made me happy I was gone and didn't go back. Also people were often afraid to come into the store, they'd take pictures of the outside yet were too afraid to enter. I prefer a more hospitable and welcoming community and team building environment. Which is why I'm in tech, art, gaming and am a hardcore activist now. ;) Due to being in college and paying for those expenses I didn't buy anything at the store with the discount while I worked there.
