Pros

-Great vision/design from Creative Director/Kering -Discount -Benefits -Paid employees during quarantine to work from home instead of lay offs (they won't let you forget it either)

Cons

-Highly toxic work environment -No work/life balance -District Manager instructed me to recruit a certain gender/race -HR team completely useless, issues would last a lot longer due to their lack of concern. -Policies change rapidly, don't get use to anything. -New useless trainings each week sent from Italy that has no relation to US market. -NEVER RECEIVED A PROPER REVIEW, Store Director made the excuse of the store being "too busy" to conduct ONE review but proceeded to assign me with 12 reviews to write and conduct within a week. -HR Issues were leaked by upper management to employees. -No path for growth -Was told by Store Director "You must sell your soul in order to be successful within this company." -Was never guided or trained properly but was criticised for lack of knowledge -District Manager blatantly favored certain employees in her region, often called "mom" by these certain employees. -New employees were always discriminated/bullied by seasoned employees. Store Director favored seasoned employees, which created tension within the store.

Optics vs Reality

Business Outlook

Pros

Company benefits: insurance coverage, maternity leave, 401K, discounts, travel budgets Creativity, vision and innovation at a worldwide level Leader in disrupting the industry to diminish obsolete concepts and create new norms Opportunity to gain knowledge in running a large volume, luxury business and acquire an understanding of a variety of markets Committed to reducing environmental impact with concrete targets and deadlines (in line with Kering)

Cons

Management is inexperienced and poor at mentoring and developing those beneath them due to their lack of experience and need for self promotion. Women are not respected, certain senior managers have directly called their reports unimaginable names and consistently referred to women in a derogatory manner on multiple occasions, which has been brought to HR attention - senior management/CEO chooses to look the other way. Speaking up will often terminate your career growth. Atmosphere of fear based leadership. Team is afraid to speak up, though there is consensus of unhappiness. Poor behavior/disrespect is rewarded with promotions and compensation, while hard work and results through honesty are marginalized and often black balled, considered weaknesses. Toxic work environment which values competitive and cut throat nature more than hard work, high quality work, team work and integrity. Optics are more important than the output. Fundamental corporate values which are intentionally given media exposure are not followed in the US regional office: respect, diversity of thought, inclusivity are all lacking on the Merchandising team currently. In order to grow within the company, it is required to abandon morals and values.
