Clean environment, decent pay when you factor in tips.

Cons

Expectations were unreasonable. All about being fast so they can maximize their profits. They originally tell you approximately 2.5 haircuts (average) needed per hour but the really they want 5 haircuts per hour. Basically the company does not ever recognize certain things are out of the employee's control such as talkative or picky customers.

Pay is okay, but not worth the mental strain

Cons

Worked off the clock if you close, creepy clients who make sexual comments, poor management, super hard to call out sick, NOT a flexible schedule, and so much more.

I love working for Great Clips! Their system is easy to follow and delivers exactly what keeps customers coming back. It takes a lot of the guesswork out, allowing me to focus on honing my skills behind the chair. I’ve had the chance to perfect these skills, thanks to all the resources and workshops available through Great Clips University!

Cons

This career can be tough. Long days behind the chair can take a toll on our bodies, but using proper ergonomics, like body positioning—an important part of the Great Clips system—can make a big difference! While working nights and weekends can be challenging, those shifts are often the most profitable. Salon life is definitely a hustle, but it’s a rewarding one.
