Pros

401k, lots of locations to chose from, flexible schedules, Paid holidays, and everyone's fun to work with.

Cons

Advertises you will make $14 an hour when you really only make $11.25 an hour + tips. I can deliver pizzas for $15 an hour + tips. The franchise I work for doesn't carry insurance for us either.

You learn how to cut hair out of cos school really really quickly Tips are decent if you’re a fast cutter

Cons

Vacation is hard to get around the holidays because of “black out dates” which are dates you will not get off if requested. Usually low on staff so you end up pulling a lot of weight Short shifts, yet still considered a full time employee

Pros

It's great for newly licensed cosmetologists You still get a base pay so if it's a slow day you're still getting paid by the hour. Continuing education Selling products raises your pay each week (you have to sell A LOT) I loved the 2nd manager And I loved the owner of the store

Cons

Base pay is low You have to cut a ridiculous amount of clients daily to raise your pay, but if the next day is slow everything you did the day before goes away. High turnover with stylists My first manager was HORRIBLE It's mainly girls so theirs a lot of cattiness and unnecessary drama The salon makes a lot of money but the stylists base pay is barely above minimum wage.
