You made an hourly wage and the customers were provided for you. Tips were all yours too.

Cons

Haircuts had to be at least 13 to 15 min even though the guideline was 14 to 17 min. You were damned if you did and damned if you don't. Had to always watch payroll but if you sent someone home early and then got a rush you would get in trouble. Main problem was a GM who didn't know what they were doing . They did not set the example that they themselfs expected of you. Unrealistic expectations. Favored certain employees over others. They rewarded you for product sales but not great customer returns. Very mixed up in what was important for the buisness.

Paid holidays, vacation time, health benefits, training, quality connections, fast paced, paying for tools (salon innovations) in chunks, good tips depending on location.

Cons

High turnover rate, management not trained, will hire anybody, hourly pay sucks, no room for advancement.
