Pros

Seriously conscious about health whether to keep more employees or to reduce work incidents I'm not sure. Decently fair depending on who is management. Good insurance and vacation benefits and to part time as well. If you like to learn there are many opportunities including optional training. Good starting pay only compared to other retail places.

Cons

It seems like too much work for the pay and continually asks more of each employee. Due to the way the company is organized getting into corporate is nearly impossible. You'll never get all of your work done and you'll be made to feel like you're letting someone down or failing.

Pros

The benefits were great! Different projects every day keep you on your toes and not bored. Have the opportunity to learn a lot of skills really quickly that are simple and commonplace to you, but make you look like a genius to other people.

Cons

I was paid $2 less an hour than my less experienced male peers and told to not rock the boat when I asked to have my pay raised to be equal. When another male coworker slapped my butt while I was in the middle of training a new team member, I got a pat on the head, a sorry and a shrug, and nothing happened to the coworker. Management is a boys club. They hire great assistant managers, overwork them, and dangle upward mobility in front of their faces and then take out their knees. Good managers with potential to do great things get run off and leave behind ineffectual managers that are unconcerned about their employees and doing much else besides cashing their checks.

Pros

Awesome people to work with. I've been around for 8+ years and worked with almost all the stores in the Portland area. Good co workers will make your job bearable and enjoyable. Fairly easy to get promoted if you show the initiative however the actual opportunities will dead end after you get a center management position, unless you really get lucky and land a regional position. Tuition reimbursement is amazing if you're going to school for a degree, as they'll pay up to $1500/yr for undergrad courses and $2500/yr for grad courses.

Cons

Tons of stress, this job can turn some people into habitual smokers. Corporate office is more focused on selling items that no one really wants to buy, at a print shop of all places, and forces those metrics onto all it's employees, giving anyone who doesn't sell a certain amount per day a write up. Stores are chronically understaffed because they try to save as much money as possible, rather than understanding that you cant have two employees running a store when it's the shipping rush hour, and you have people who need copies done, faxes sent and 10 different packages shipped, all in the course of 5 minutes.
