Pros

Office is in a nice location in Andover.

Cons

The Enel Control Room is treated like a second class department. Low salaries, increasing demands, constantly understaffed and poor leadership. The 12 hour weekend schedule will kill you. You just want to go home, eat and go to sleep. As if the schedule is not demanding enough, the listing indicates they may go to a rotating 12 hour schedule. If you want a life or have a family this is not the job for you. They are not kidding about mandatory overtime either. There is only one person per shift. When someone is on vacation or out sick they force you to work OT. They don't care about your life outside of Enel and show no appreciation for your sacrifices. The lack of employees puts a huge strain on everyone in the department. The main issue is that they do not pay a competitive salary and cannot attract any qualified employees. The listing indicates they want college educated applicants but none of the management in the Control Room are college educated. They have no training experience and hate to do it. The running theme in the department was if you had a question, you should "read the manual" because there is no training program. Watching 15 wind sites was demanding enough but now they are adding a dozen hydro sites with no additional employees or pay. Not an enjoyable environment to work in as there is a camera on you at all times and they track your key card closely and will question you if they see you were out of the room for more than a few minutes.
