Pros

UNICEF has a great mission. Provides opportunities to learn about children rights. Working for any UN Agency, definitely is a great step in anyone career that can help you land a great job outside UN. UNICEF has a strong brand that uses to promote children rights and in the last years has developed a bold style for its massive communications.

Cons

No opportunities to grow up a career. Being promoted is not a possibility if you are in a support position. UNICEF it is one of the most political agency within UN. People at management level are old school and most of the times do not allow young people to develop. Consultants are not taken into account and are often treated as outsiders without benefits.

Pros

Working at the UN was an amazing experience, being able to take part in such a significant mission was great.

Cons

As I was not a full-time volunteer and was also responsible for fundraising in my territory, I felt that I did not receive the same treatment as the other volunteers. It was a challenging role and experience, and at times it felt like my well-being was not fully considered.
