Pros

Team members at the same level as you

Cons

Avoid at all costs. In the last 2 years, they’ve gone through 2 HUGE rounds of re-org, causing lots of people to be laid off. Basically just know that every time a Senior manager or above management executive is hired, the answer to all their problems seems to be a re-org (they just want to show that change = good but that couldn’t be further from what actually happened) Rather than listening to employees, 4-5 people meet and decide what the best operating model is. Constant re-org & layoffs have really hurt this company. I would be cautious. It’s a good place to start your career but be prepared for things like this to be regular. Very unpredictable company. Avoid.

UL Solutions Response

UL Solutions grew from a not-for-profit entity to a for-profit entity in 2012. For the last decade we have made a massive transition towards being a for-profit entity and aligning the business to support this growth. We want to change thoughtfully and bring more perspectives into those decisions. Thank you for this feedback.

Pros

Strong brand reputation and credibility in the marketplace. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in sales, compliance, testing, certification, and regulatory industries. Friendly, knowledgeable, and collaborative colleagues who are willing to help each other succeed. Good work-life balance compared to many sales organizations. Stable business with diverse industries and customers. Professional development opportunities and exposure to complex customer challenges.

Cons

Typical large-company bureaucracy can slow decision-making and execution. Internal processes and approvals may require patience and persistence. Organizational complexity can sometimes create challenges when navigating cross-functional initiatives. Career progression may occasionally depend on understanding and adapting to corporate dynamics.
