Managers have no respect for Italian laws - Anonymous employee Thoughtworks Employee Review

The European headquarter made managers in Spain head the Italian office for about one year. The last 6 months have been constant threatening of a layoff one person after another. They are laying off some the most senior consultants, Nobody knows where they want to bring the company to. Everyone is scared and trying to get another job and leave. The new managers have totally broken the Italian labour regulations and trying to bypass it by stating in the layoff letter that the company isn’t doing well financially. They think this can get them away from immediate layoff without following the process that the government lays down. The EU HQ managers in Germany don’t seem to have a clue or maybe they permit this.
