Pros
Good benefits and stock options, good partners (usually), unlimited free drinks while on shift, discount program (Partner Perks) plus 30% off in store, fast-paced, tips (baristas and shift supervisors), flexible hours.
Cons
Low pay, very high expectations, pressure and workload, but will rarely approve overtime if no labor is available. Occasionally unpleasant customers (most can be won over with strong customer service), but it is not uncommon to be spoken to like you're stupid. Lack of partners and candidates with work ethic and initiative (in my area). Cannot call out sick without finding coverage (esp. supervisors and mgmt) - nearly impossible if you find yourself sick late and night and opening in the AM. Can easily become stuck in a position for many years despite good performance and drive to move up if management is poor and/or if management turnover is high.
