Pros
Shell takes care of its employee by providing them enough support, work-life balance and travel opportunities. The compensation and benefits are well matched to the industry standard. Many would say that it's a comany to retire with.
Cons
Oil industry is volatile and the company goes through reorganization every few years creating uncertainty and anxiety at the workplace. Also, the work is not very challenging most of the time which gives way to office politics and favoritism when it comes to promotions and project opportunities.
