Pros

1. Work-life balance - You'll get ample time for personal life 2. Paternity leave - Novartis allows even the father to take 6 months paid leave 3. Unlimited Sick leave - There is no cap on taking sick leave 4. People are rewarded well if you're a good performer

Cons

1. If you aim to learn & grow, don't join Novartis. Join if & only if you want a work-life balance 2. The scope of work is very limited, and exposure is also very less. 3. After coming from a consulting firm, I feel Novartis is a very slow company. 4. The workplace is not engaging as other companies. If you like to work alone, it's a good company for you. 5. In every 6 months to 1 year, there is some kind of org restructuring that happens. It seems the leadership has no vision. 6. Generally there is no hand holding or teaching, people are expected to know everything maybe thats why mostly experienced people are hired here.

Pros

Pays pretty well in comparison to similar jobs in the market

Cons

Unstable schedule where you are often asked to come in overnight (1-2 am) regardless of if you have worked the previous day or are off. Basically feels like you're permanently on-call to conduct environmental monitoring. Training is slow. The Micro dept in general is currently understaffed. The job also involves lab work once you are done with your daily environmental monitoring tasks. The work never ceases and the Technicians as a whole has several responsibilities. Promotions seem to come very slowly here.
