Pros

> Unpaid time off > Flexible

Cons

> There are "policies in place", but when I try to enforce/follow a policy, another manager "helps out" and turns a blind eye and overrides it. So what are the point of policies? Why are we picking and choosing when to follow them? > Toxic environment > Lots of workplace drama. Management doesn't seem to care and doesn't try to find solutions for any of it. > Very short staffed > Workload is way too much (other companies have different departments that do certain things that way everything runs smoothly. Here you are responsible for EVERYTHING! Especially if you are cross trained! You have to pick up calls, sell glasses, book appointments, check insurances, inspect glasses, do adjustments, pre-screen patients, deal with contacts, and so much more!) > They care about numbers more than employees > There is so much paper work that the company expects you to fill out > Work holidays > Favoritism > Processing things through HR takes ages. It takes way longer than it needs to and it's ridiculous > There is no work-life balance. You don't get a set schedule. One day you could work mornings, the next you could work the closing shift, then the next you could be mid shift. It is not consistent. > Higher ups have too high of expectations. They don't face reality. It's just too much. > There is so so so so much more that I cannot think of... but imo, AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Pros

when I first started it was a very employee based company. Great discounts, great benefits. Regional managers were swift to help if we had questions and offer support

Cons

Since last year the environment has changed vastly. They no longer care about the employees and only want results. They have raised prices and insurances dont cover as well as they used to and they expect the managers to just force people to buy. If you dont make your monthly goals youre put on a PIP and the Regionals are constantly threatening you to make them. The work life balance does not exist. There is a group chat with your fellow store managers hosted by the Regional and if its your day off they still expect a response. I know it comes from the top down but the micromanaging has gotten so awful. Down to the minute you must be scheduled correctly. I have been here for 3 years and have never had a positive review even though our store has exceeded its goals. Doesnt matter to them, they expect more and more. They raise goals constantly and the only answer they have for making sure we hit those goals is no one leaves, even though they can get the same product from a competitor at a much lower cost.
