Genuinely enjoy the field of optical; always something new to learn working with both the Telehealth and In-Person Drs. to treat patients, Love styling customers in new frames and the gratification seeing their excitement after fitting them in the perfect (or multiple pairs), and even more so seeing their smiles trying their new glasses on for the first time at pick up
Cons
Constant stress of working under staffed since my hire date 1+ yr ago, trying to run the store efficiently with 4 or 5 staff that call in every other week, pick and choose which job tasks they “feel like doing,” and no dependable support gong through 2 ASM’s (and being without one for 4+ months) and no store manager for 9+ months due to health issues, and staff having zero respect or authority for the Manager's expectations upon return due to bitterness and feelings of “abandonment” going without a manager on site for 12+ months total out of the past 24 and the stress of barely keeping the store operational with 2-3 staff members total
