Having a wider view of the team, the last two points I can confidently challenge. Promotion and work assignment is given to people that managers are impressed by. This is a reality in all workplaces, but we have structured performance reviews and 360 degree feedback rounds available for all to make sure promotions are based on performance. Equally, senior leaders keep an ongoing eye on the total talent pool to make sure people are given opportunities to be challenged when new projects come up.
If you do feel you or a colleague has been overlooked, please do not hesitate to raise it with your manager, me or another leader in the client delivery community so we can shine a light on any potential blind spots and importantly ensure you're getting the right support and development in your role.
