Pros

Career advancement, brand-name clients and ample training. Opportunity to travel if you like it and good performance management system. For the most part, co-works are intelligent from top schools. Opportunities to cross-roles meaning you can work in IT but then maybe work in finance if you are up for it. Lots of social activities for those without families.

Cons

lack of work/life balance, partner promises too much and travel. Difficult place to work and raise a family. Compensation is on the lower-hand of the Big 4. Disparate systems for time keeping, training and other stuff - it would nice to have a portal for all onlie needs.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
