Pros

- Great chance to follow a lot of different projects, learning fast and improving your CV - Managers are highly qualified and really available in supporting you in developing new skills - Even during the 2008-2009 crisis no one was discharged - Senior consultants are given a healthcare insurance

Cons

HR management highly improvable: - few team building opportunities - really low salary compared with public commpanies - overtime is not directly paid (but bonuses are provided at year end) - Company car is provided but you are requested to pay around 150-180 € per month - Some time you will be required to work from 10-14 hours a day for a long period (1-3 months) or to work during week-ends - no international training opportunities. Internal training is not so good (the average duration of a course is 1 day) - few opportunities of having an international experience working for other international KPMG entities - meal tickets are not provided and a cafeteria service is not available

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
