Not a good place to work for css/back office/admin jobs - lags behind other big 4 firms. - Engagement Analyst KPMG Employee Review

Pros

Decent benefits, especially the time off (4-5 weeks to start). Work/life balance is something the company strives for, but isn't always achievable. The KPMG name will look good on your resume.

Cons

I work on the CSS side of the business versus CSD. The CSD side works with the clients, the CSS side is all the backoffice stuff. I could not recommend this company for any of the CSS positions. They are low pay with little to no opportunity for advancement. On the upside, however, you will barely be working. I can't remember the last time I worked 40 hours in a week. This is in stark contract to the CSD side of the company, where 100 hour weeks are not uncommon.

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
