Pros

overall work environment is good . like the level of commitment to ethics and compliance. Love the flexible leave of absence options offered and the medical benefits are awesome. Also one of the very few employers offering pension benefits.

Cons

you are mostly on your own. If you are a new comer , there is no way to get on to projects; everyone picks their own friends to work on projects. I have seen that while there are some people "supposedly part time" on several projects while others with the same skill sets sit on the bench,. Also juniors are held responsible for their utilization while there is no accountability for that pinned to the management.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
